THE ADOBE ABODE

THE ADOBE ABODE

This charming adobe is the fifth house Randy and Liselle Hill have lived in on Wilson Avenue in Fresno’s Old Fig, which speaks to their love of the neighborhood. Interiors Editor Roseanne Guaglianone has worked with them on multiple projects. “People often tell me that I create tranquil, sanctuary-like spaces. I believe that is due to my innate ability to work with energy and balancing tension in the interiors I create. I say the spaces I create edify peoples’ spirits,” Rosanne said.

The sun room looks out onto two gorgeous old olive trees that Randy and Liselle brought in to grace their backyard. They often picnic under the trees.

My use of old and new in the living room creates a friendly, inviting feeling—casual elegance. The monochromatic background is punctuated by natural elements of leather, reclaimed wood, rock crystal, textured linens, carved marble, and a complimentary collection of various authentic ethnic pieces.

The kitchen is simple and restrained. I balanced elements once again by juxtaposing an old stone vessel sink and a stripped-down old farmhouse cabinet with sleek modern surfaces and appliances. I framed a large, antiqued mirror in iron and placed it across from the windows to bring in reflected light and views of their beautiful backyard.
