WOODSY CHIC

WOODSY CHIC

This house went from tired and traditional to woodsy chic without breaking the bank. Our client wanted a complete facelift without major surgery. We were able to achieve a massive transformation without making any structural changes to the home.

In the kitchen, we salvaged the existing cabinetry by replacing the cabinet doors, adding new hardware, and freshening the space with clean, white paint.

The sunroom is one of our favorite spaces in the house. Our client requested emerald green as an accent color. What better way to add emerald green than with an amazing emerald green, velvet sofa? The black rattan chairs are airy and provide the perfect balance to the heavier velvet couch. On the wall, a forest themed, engraved armoire opens to provide a full-service bar, perfect for entertaining in this cool new space.

Beyond the sunroom lies the not-so-formal dining room. A natural wood table pairs with black bistro chairs, while oversized wicker pendants make this room feel inviting, devoid of pretension. Rounding out the space, a mysterious black and emerald print of foliage acts as an intriguing focal point.

When it came to the great room, an existing fireplace clad in flagstone was to remain. Visually, this is a very heavy element. Our biggest challenge was to find furniture that would stand up to this feature without overwhelming it. Custom couches upholstered in a large-scale motif flank the fireplace, and an earth-tone rug helps to anchor the space. For a coffee table, we brought in a large ottoman, perfect for kicking your feet up and relaxing by the fire.

With a mostly neutral color palette, we were able to add so much visual interest with emerald accents and an array of live house plants, while vintage accessories and modern lighting give this home a whimsical air with a touch of glam.
