Featured is the world premiere of a new work, Meguru: Dreams of Harvest, by California composers Hitomi Oba and Erika Oba, inspired by the life and writings of Fresno author and organic peach farmer David “Mas” Masumoto. Pianist Barry Douglas returns for Rachmaninoff’s beloved Piano Concerto No. 2. The concert concludes with Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9.

Free admission is supported by the City of Fresno Measure P Expanded Access to Arts and Culture Fund administered by the Fresno Arts Council. St. Patrick’s Day Parade

The St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Downtown Visalia will begin at 10:00AM on Main Street at Church. It will travel west to Willis and then head north. The parade will disband in front of The Vintage Press. Parade entrants will be checked in at Arts Visalia on Oak Avenue. They will be accepting late entries, and the day-of entry fee is $35.

The next step of Downtown Visalia’s St. Patrick’s Day celebration will take place in Rec Park. Irish Fest continues to feature a sampling of over 50 favors of local craft breweries with 100 different brews that can be tasted, along with craft spirits. This is a 21+ event, which begins at 1:00PM. Last pour will be at 4:30PM. Tickets are $50 in advance and $60 at the door.

The fourth annual Farm to Fiddle Dinner Party unites food and music in the Central Valley. The night commences with local wine and specialties, as well as a special performance by Rei Hotoda and members of the Fresno Phil. A seated farm-style dinner with local flavors completes this magical evening. Event proceeds support the music and education programming of the Fresno Phil.
