A Taste of Bayou

Bradley Bayou is multi-disciplinary designer whose career spans fashion, fine art and interiors. Since establishing Bradley Bayou Design in 2010, an interior design and development firm based in Los Angeles and New York City,he has developed a portfolio that has garnered acclaim from publications including Architectural Digest, The Wall Street Journal, Elle Décor and Dwell.

The Bayou House is a masterful, contemporary architectural achievement sited prominently in the “Bird Streets” of Los Angeles, CA. It is a ground-up new construction designed by Bradley Bayou. Every detail of this property was created using Bradley’s World Modern aesthetic, sophisticated materials and unparalleled craftsmanship.

I took Bradley’s advice when creating a dinner party for one of his clients in his newly- built, modern home. Bradley believes that you “create a figure that looks beautifully proportioned and that gets attention in all the right places.” In this case, less was more. For the table design I kept to the surrounding color palette. I found metal chairs with a burlap pad, which were the perfect choice; it turns out Bradley loves burlap!

It’s always great to brand the client within an event. The color of the logo was the perfect opportunity: a deep, crimson red, which was a great pop of color for floral arrangements. They noticed.

I created the menu the same way: a formed, chopped salad stood still, but showed texture and depth. The dessert was a warm chocolate truffle cake with raspberry coulis, which reinforced the trademark splash of color.

When planning an event, I’m always searching for the elements that will capture the look and feel of my client because that is the Art of Entertaining!
