GIVE THANKS

GIVE THANKS

I love Thanksgiving! Food, family, and a large table to gather are all you need. Thanksgiving is just a time to hang and reconnect without the pressure of gift giving. This year, I’m particularly excited to host family from all over the country. My brother is even making the trek from Berlin, so my table needs to be extra special.

Luckily, I’m super inspired by the current dried floral trend and conveniently they give a Thanksgiving table the perfect amount of harvest vibe. This year I went with a black, white, terra-cotta/copper theme. Gray is a predominant color in my home décor, so I pulled that throughout the table via the dried florals, as well as in the bud vases. A pop of mustard yellow, wheat, and shades of rust and dusty rose round out the modern yet organic color palette.

The plates are matte white and have an irregular, hand-crafted feel. The matte finish makes the setting feel earthy, but also very on-trend. Copper napkins with a white pinstripe communicate with the coolest concrete wood grain candleholders in terra-cotta pink color. On top of the napkins sit copper forged flatware that has a distinctly modern shape juxtaposed with a textured casual finish. The matte black pottery vases are the perfect foil to anchor the light-colored stems they hold. Overall, this table gives all of the Thanksgiving feels without feeling too precious to really dig in and enjoy.

Bon appétit and Happy Thanksgiving.
