DIY Sugar Scrub: Lavender Vanilla

DIY Sugar Scrub: Lavender Vanilla

I like to consider myself a mad scientist of sugar scrubs. A bit of an enthusiast! These DIY treats are chemical free TLC for the skin. Lately, I have been on a major lavender kick and thought that a new sugar scrub was a must. Bottle this magic potion in jars and spread the wealth to give as a gift.

Here's the simple recipe and steps:

Ingredients: 1 cup white sugar 1/2 cup coconut oil melted (for easy mixing), 4 tablespoons grape seed or sweet almond oil, 1 teaspoon vanilla, 10-15 drops lavender essential oil and dried lavender buds. Can you smell the goodness already?

Method: Pour sugar into a clean mixing bowl. Add oils and stir to combine. Add vanilla and essential oil. Stir to distribute evenly throughout. Pour into a clean jar and label. Voila!

To use:  Rub a little bit of the scrub on your body or between your hands with a little bit of water. Rinse with warm water to remove excess oils and be careful not to slip if using in the shower! It will give you a dreamy exfoliation while leaving your skin feeling hydrated, soft and smooth. I especially love this one for the calming effects. Use at night for an evening bath and head straight to dreamland.

The more  you make these, the more creative you will get. Experimenting with different ingredients is not only fun, it’s addicting!
