My career began when Mom said, “Take a class in real estate so this won’t happen to you.” In 2006, my mother had a foreclosure letter on the door and was nearly scammed from our home.  I never saw her cry until that day. Fortunately, we found a solution and kept our home, but I will never forget that day—how lack of knowledge and not knowing how to defend yourself can make life rigorous. It was a blessing in disguise that led me to be a real estate agent, enabling me to help my community through the biggest investment of people’s lives.

What Motivates Me

Being alive and well, especially during this time. I have the blessing of doing what I love. I have some of the most interesting clients and have been able to connect people so they can benefit from each other in some way.  

Advice For Young Men

Never bring your work home when in a relationship—leave work at work. A girlfriend or wife is the backbone of who you are and how your next day will play out. If you’re single, stay single to build your foundation, travel the world, meet new people—you run into someone when you least expect it.

Who Mentored Me In My Career

Barry and Betty Tashakorian with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices in La Jolla were like second parents to me. They taught me everything there is to know in luxury real estate, from pulling permits and learning where materials come from, to how to talk to heavy hitters and market luxury homes worth millions. They welcomed me into their home, and I worked 24/7. I loved every single moment I was with them—those were the best years of my twenties.
