ALEX HUDSON LYME FOUNDATION
Jody Hudson
CEO & Founder
Stepping out with faith to create purpose out of pain.
Created by my daughter’s last wishes, the Alex Hudson Lyme Foundation (AHLF) received its 501c3 status in June of 2018. Born out of local grass roots efforts, AHLF continues to gather the help and support of the Fresno community to honor Alex’s legacy. The mission is dedicated to spreading awareness and advocacy for Lyme disease, as well as raising funds for research specific to Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS). Get involved. The Story Behind My Business Name
Feeling frustrated by a lack of diagnosis and being labeled a “medical mystery,” Alex began researching various diseases and medical conditions. In 2017, Alex and I made a trip to Los Angeles where she finally received a proper diagnosis. Too late to save my daughter, I now fight for those battling Lyme disease.
Our Biggest Accomplishments
In just over a year, AHLF has established grants for local Lyme patients, co-sponsored a $50K research grant named after Alex, collaborated with Girl Scouts of Central California South for Lyme curriculum, and sponsored community outreach efforts. Our next steps will focus on changing state legislation for Lyme patients and sponsoring community health PSAs.
Who I Am
I am a product of foster care, adoption, motherhood, divorce, and grief. I am piecing myself back together, rediscovering joy and purpose. My daughter showed me what true courage and strength looked like as she heroically fought for her life. I move forward with grace no matter what comes my way.
