COMMUNITY MEDICAL CENTERS
Katie Zenovich
Senior Vice President of Development & External Affairs
“Nothing has ever been achieved by the person who says, ‘It can’t be done.’”—Eleanor Roosevelt
Community is the largest health system in Central California and the largest private employer in the Valley with 8,600 employees. It’s a world-class organization that takes care of the entire region. Comprised of four hospitals and several ancillary facilities, Community provides a higher level of care, including Level I trauma, burn, high-risk maternity, level 3 NICU, neurosciences, a heart and lung institute, and comprehensive cancer care. As a non-profit, its mission is to care for everyone, whether or not they can pay.
Three Adjectives That Describe Me
Passionate. Politely persistent. High performing (I ask my team for extreme performance).
My Happiest Professional Moment
Becoming a senior vice president at Community. I was one of only four women at the time. Today, half of our top leaders are women.
What I Love About My Profession
I have my dream job. I wake up and feel fortunate to do what I do. I get to help thousands of people and make things possible that otherwise would not be. I build relationships to support the hospital that ultimately fund priorities and initiatives—including the response to COVID-19
Why Giving Back Is So Important
Donations can literally change and save lives. I work with people who want to make a difference and help them invest in vital assets that will serve generations to come. Clovis Community, a new Heart and Lung Institute, the Community Cancer Institute, and Terry’s House (celebrating its 10th anniversary this year) are made possible by folks in the community who choose to give back.
