The Fresno Phil’s final concert of 2023-2024 season wraps with the Daniel R. Martin Masterworks Series and will feature pianist Joyce Yang, who will perform Samuel Barber’s titanic Piano Concerto. Gershwin’s An American in Paris pairs beautifully with Ravel’s Boléro, which draws inspiration from the rhythms of the fandango and the factory. Single tickets are available.

June holds the first three of FAM’s five Summer 2024 Art Academy visual art workshops for kids and teens. Students will explore the elements of art and how they apply to the principles of design through a variety of media in all of these workshops. Each week has a different morning and afternoon program slated for children ages 8 to 15, who may do either a full or half day.

Miss California kicks of its centennial celebration with five nights of competition. Each evening hosts a different component, leading up to Miss California Centennial Finals on the final night, when the new Miss California 2024 will be crowned. Lace up your walking shoes for a 5K run and walk to raise awareness and funds in support of The Source LGBT+ Center this Pride Month. Formerly known as Pride Walk, Rainbow Run is a fundraiser for the organization’s programs and HIV services. The registration fee is $45 and includes a T-shirt, race timing, bib, and finishing medal.

One Night in Memphis honors a evening in rock and roll history. On December 4th, 1965, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Pressley, and Johnny Cash all happened to be at Sam Phillips Sun Records studio in Memphis, which resulted in an impromptu jam session that later headlined as the “Million Dollar Quartet.” This show pays homage to the occasion. Ticket prices are $45 to $55.
