PUMPKIN SPICE AND EVERYTHING NICE
The Favorite Flavor, Scent, and Color of Fall
Cooler weather, football, Halloween decorations, and falling leaves used to be the clear indicators that fall is in the air. Now, it’s all things pumpkin spice that announces the arrival of autumn. Thanks to Starbucks, this magical flavor is now a cultural phenomenon and we just can’t get enough.
The flavor of fall has a long history (even before Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Lattes became a thing). According to the History channel, pumpkin spice has been around for over 3,500 years. A key ingredient in the flavor was discovered way back when on ancient pottery shards in Indonesia: nutmeg.
A mixture of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, and cloves, the flavor, scent, and color of pumpkin spice has now carried over into linens, peanut butter, body butters, candles, and more. Fall in love with these nutmeg inspired products that have made pumpkin spice an actual season.
