How are smiles impacted as we age?
As we age, our teeth also age. People tend to have more wear on their teeth, which is mostly due to the bite and the way teeth come together. Along with an uneven bite, people start to see root exposure near their gum line. So with cosmetic dentistry, we can correct the signs of aging by rejuvenating teeth and giving a more bright, charming smile.
How can cosmetic dentistry slow or correct the signs of aging?
Cosmetic dentistry can improve a patient’s smile with veneers or crowns. This allows us to change the shape, size, color, and more, which makes every smile customized and unique. Giving each patient a more youthful and vibrant smile.
What goes into creating a timeless smile?
Creating a timeless smile requires extensive training by mastering dental anatomy and learning how to prepare and design a dream smile.
What was it about Farrah’s smile that she was looking to restore?
Farrah came to us seeking help with her smile because she felt embarrassed and did not want to smile in front of people because her teeth were no longer visible when she smiled. She also felt her smile made her look older than what she actually was, which affected her self-confidence. In the end, the functionality and aesthetics were restored in Farrah’s smile.
Tell us about what was involved in Farrah’s procedure.
On day one, we knew this was going to be a unique case because we had to determine the final length of her teeth so that it would fit her face and ensure that she would be able to show her beautiful, bright teeth.
What does the timeframe for a smile restoration look like?
For a smile restoration, we start off with records, then we prepare the teeth. Then the patient has time to test-drive the temporary veneers, and we make modifications as needed. Once the patient is happy with the look and feel, we bond the final veneers, so in total of about 6 to 8 weeks from start to finish.
What are some of the most common smile restoration procedures patients can seek out as they age?
People can seek out different procedures to rejuvenate their smile by aligning their teeth, having porcelain veneers, or direct composite bonding to have a fuller and much brighter smile.
