Family business can be the best business. Just ask Brent McCaffrey, who grew up in the homebuilding business and Ash Knowlton, who joined 15 years ago after marrying Brent’s sister, Lauren. The brothers-in-law share the drive of college athletes – Brent played football for USC and Ash played basketball for Portland State – and the love of homebuilding. Together they have helped to create the vibrant Tesoro Viejo, Madera County’s newest, award-winning master-planned community.

THREE GENERATIONS OF HOME BUILDERS
The business started with Brent’s grandfather John Bonadelle, a pioneer in the homebuilding industry, who would say, “Rise and shine, it’s building time!” He emphasized the importance of hard work, integrity, and keeping your word. Brent’s parents, Bob and Karen McCaffrey, started McCaffrey Homes, the builder of more than 10,000 homes over the last 45 years. Now their son and son-in-law are continuing the tradition of strong homebuilding.
