NO PANTS, NO PROBLEM

Nic Tailor Custom Fit Underwear is Setting New Standards for Men’s Skivvies

“No shave November” has been taken a step further with the “Movember” movement—it is a time when intentional donning a mustache signifies support of and serves to raise awareness for men's health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer, as well as men's mental health and suicide prevention. September was Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, yet the Nic Tailor clothing brand has taken their support far beyond that timeframe.

LB What inspired the founding of Nic Tailor? Where does the name come from?

NT We felt there was great potential for a truly customized men’s underwear company. There was nothing like it on the market until the birth of Nic Tailor. Other companies offer S-M-L-XL, but Nic Tailor offers sizes 28”-48”. We’re also extremely proud that we produce a garment that is 100% made in the USA, right here in North Carolina. The name comes from the concept of “tailored nickers.”

LB Why is Nic Tailor the best underwear line for the pant-less Zoom wardrobe?

NT Nic Tailor is ideal for the pant-less Zoom wardrobe because we offer tremendous comfort. Afterall, who needs to slip on pants these days? Whether you’re having morning coffee or enjoying happy hour in front of your laptop, tablet, or iPhone, Nic Tailor keeps you comfy and looking cool!

LB How does the Nic Tailor line stand apart from its competition?
NT Nic Tailor stands apart simply by offering the sophisticated man (or woman who buys for her man) truly customizable underwear manufactured with the highest quality fabric. Nic Tailor has over 2,200 SKUs. Being able to say that we’re made in the USA also separates us from the competition. In addition, we’re committed to revolutionizing the undergarment game through philanthropy, which is one of the reasons why we’ve aligned with Prostate Cancer Foundation. The Dry Fly is a new boxer-brief that we’ve launched for men who have a bit of incontinence, such as those who’ve battled prostate cancer.

LB
How is the new Dry Fly boxer-brief essential for men facing prostate cancer?

NT Our new Dry Fly offers the same high quality with the addition of two additional plies of moisture trapping fabric: one in the front panel and one in the gusset. They feel exactly the same as our regular boxer-briefs. We use COOL ME QUICKTM technology to attract and hold moisture.

LB In what ways is Nic Tailor setting new philanthropic standards within the garment industry?

NT Through our partnership with Prostate Cancer Foundation. We are always looking at various philanthropic endeavors and will continue to find ways to give back to others.

LB Tell us about the #NicTailorNoPants Campaign and its partnership with Prostate Cancer Foundation.

NT Our #NicTailorNoPants campaign was a partnership with actor Peter Facinelli and the Prostate Cancer Foundation to help spread awareness during Prostate Cancer Awareness Month (September). It’s a vulnerable conversation to have—hence the vulnerable ask for guys to snap a selfie in their underwear and tag 3 other guys to do the same, while also tagging Prostate Cancer Foundation. We were thrilled with the amount of buzz the campaign received, which helped shine a much brighter light on the disease. Peter’s father and uncle battled prostate cancer, so the cause was an important one to him. He was the perfect person to lead the way with our campaign, and we can’t thank him enough for his kindness. Also, he happens to have a movie out on demand/streaming called The Vanished, so be sure to check it out!

LB How did Peter Facinelli prepare for the campaign and what is his ongoing role?

NT He had just slimmed down in quarantine, so he was game to do it when we approached him. It’s no easy thing for someone to pose in their underwear, and he had just finished a press tour for his movie The Vanished, so it all worked out.

LB Tell us about partnering with Peter for the #NicTailorNoPants campaign.

NT When we decided to partner with Prostate Cancer Foundation, we knew we’d need a celebrity who shared a common passion for spreading awareness, as the attention and reach of someone of that caliber is crucial for awareness campaigns. We’ve been long-time fans of Peter’s work, so we reached out to his team with the ask. He was honored to take part in it and do what he could to spread awareness for the disease.

LB Why is prostate cancer awareness so important?

NT There is virtually no one that’s not touched by someone who has faced prostate cancer, albeit directly or indirectly. We’re passionate about spreading awareness through our partnership with Prostate Cancer Foundation. We’re so passionate and committed to this amazing foundation that we’re donating 15% of all proceeds to them. More than 14 million men worldwide are affected—that’s 1 in 9 men, and 1 in 6 for African American males.  If your mom had the breast cancer gene, you’re more at risk for developing prostate cancer, and, vice versa, if you have the prostate cancer gene, your daughter is faced with an increased risk of breast cancer. It’s a family conversation, and a lifesaving one to have.

LB What is Nic Tailor doing to give back to the community it serves, particularly in relation to Movember?

NT We’re donating a portion of all sales (including gift cards) to Prostate Cancer Foundation during the months of October and November. Now is the time to get some great underwear—and for a good cause! We also have undershirts and masks, so the gift cards coupled with those make for a great gift for the guy who has everything—or just needs a pair of underwear that actually fits! In addition, we’re continuing to shine a light on Prostate Cancer Foundation and the need for men to stay on top of their prostate health with regular check-ups.
